Extend video
Continue any AI video from its last frame or from a moment you pick, and chain extensions into longer scenes.
Extend continues a video. In this mode Duration is the length of the added part.
How to use it
- Go to Create → Extend video, drop a video, or press Extend on any video in your Library.
- Continue from: by default the new part starts from the last frame. To start earlier, pause the preview or drag the slider (at least 1 s in). Everything after that moment is dropped and the new part continues from there.
- Describe only what happens next, and repeat how the people look so they stay the same.
- Set the duration of the new part and press Generate.
Don't write "Extend the video…"; the app adds that.
Wan 3.0 vs Seedance 2.5
| Wan 3.0 / Prime | Seedance 2.5 | |
|---|---|---|
| What the model sees | the last 5 seconds of your video | the whole video |
| Result | the full video: original + new part | only the new part |
| Joining | automatic | Merge with source in your Library (2 credits) |
| Added length per step | up to 20 s | up to 30 s |
| Aspect ratio | same as the source | same as the source |
With Wan, the model counts the part it sees twice: 2 × 5 s + the added part must stay within 30 s. Extend the result again to keep going.
Making a long scene
- Make a strong first clip (5–10 s).
- Extend it with the next action, then extend the result, and so on.
- Keep the people's description identical in every step, or use characters.
- Keep each step to one new action; big jumps (new location, new people) break continuity.
Cost
- Wan: (added seconds + the seconds sent, at most 5) × price per second.
- Seedance: (added seconds + the full source length) × price per second, plus 2 credits if you merge.
Questions
How long can an extended video get?
There is no total limit with Wan: each step sends only the last 5 seconds, so you can keep extending the result. Each single step adds up to 20 seconds with Wan and 30 seconds with Seedance.
Why does the person look different after extending?
Describe their look again in the extend prompt (hair, build, clothing) or use an @character, and keep the location the same.
